Volunteers Needed at Our Neighbors’ Place
To the loyal coordinators of folks who serve in Our Neighbors' Place sleeping shelter: Grace and Peace to you in these trying times. We bring a request of a different sort tonight, though the aim is the same as in prior years. We realize that many in our volunteer base are vulnerable to the effects of Covid19 and that many others care for people who may be vulnerable. These folks should rightly take the necessary precautions for their health. So this year we are not requesting that each church staff a night. Instead anyone who wants to serve can volunteer for any shifts at any shelter throughout the shelter season (see calendar attached). Thanks to Ashley Westgate of ServErie, we have an on-line sign-up tool to coordinate the efforts of people in the Erie area to volunteer for Our Neighbors' Place. The link to the sign up tool is: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B044EACAE2FA0FE3-ourneighbors
EUMA and Erie County Health Department have taken great steps to make the shelter safe for both guests and volunteers. Protocols and equipment are in place to minimize risks to those who serve. And EUMA staff are in the shelter all night every night to guarantee continuity of operations. If you or your congregants have questions, please contact Gail (email or phone) 790-9749 or firstname.lastname@example.org

A request was made of the pastor to offer a
Bible study during Lent. Rev. Lewis will offer a Zoom class beginning Monday, February 22nd at 7pm and ending Monday, March 29th. Six sessions. Please let the pastor know that you are interested so that he can get you a study guide and send you the email link to the Zoom meetings. The focus of the study will be on the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-7. We hope to better understand the teachings of Jesus and how
they apply to our own lives.

Thank you to all the chairpersons and their committee members for all that they do and make happen here at Lakewood. The past months have been difficult and all of these committees have stepped up to the challenge to keep our Church functioning as close to “normal” as possible!
